Rev Stephen Estherby retired from the RAN in 2022 after 9 years service. He was ordained as “minister of word and sacrament” in 1989. During the 1980’s he served in the RAAF as a Radio Technician (Ground). After completing 6 years service he discharged to attend theological college where he completed a Bachelor of Theology
He served congregations in isolated, rural and regional areas. He has also worked as a political lobbyist and in multimedia.
He is happily married and has three adult sons of whom he is extremely proud.
He operates by the philosophy expressed by Ratty in Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows. “Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” As a consequence he skippers a small yacht named “Delusions of Grandeur”. He enjoys camping, four wheel driving and pretending to catch fish. He loves history and any good story.
