The first few weeks back at work after a break provides us an excellent opportunity to make a fresh start in our working relationships. We can choose to modify our own behaviours and allow others to change theirs. Our attitude towards others has an effect. When positive we work towards positive outcomes. The opposite happens when we are negative and pessimistic.
If you view people as “dropkicks” you will treat them as “dropkicks” they will act like “dropkicks” and you may well become a “………….”.
Sometimes a good look in the mirror produces something less than satisfaction and we need to put in place changes that will improve the way we relate to others. Give others the benefit of the doubt, expect and encourage them to do well. If you have high expectations of others then be prepared to be a good coach and call the best out of people by your patient example.
If you have been acting like a “dropkick” recognise the reality, ask for forgiveness and realise that others too make mistakes and need a real opportunity to make a fresh start. Use this time to restore and renew relationships and to build brand new ones.
When things become unbearable on our computers we reach for the reset button. Sometimes we have to do that in life.
eChaps prayer for today
Lord God, help us to recognise the necessity for change and give us insight and courage to make the necessary changes. Amen
